Tuesday, January 12, 2010 A Mass of Christian Burial for Franciscan Sister Olivia Marie Stier was celebrated on Jan. 5 in the motherhouse chapel of the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, Ind. Sister Olivia Marie, 97, died Jan. 3 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville.

Tuesday, January 12, 2010 A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of St. Joseph Marie Andre Raymond was celebrated at Mount St. Mary Convent in Wichita, Kan., on Jan. 6. Sister Marie Andre, 96, died Jan. 4 at the convent.

Tuesday, January 12, 2010 A Mass of Christian Burial for Precious Blood Sister Elizabeth (M. Irmina) Massarek was held Jan. 8 at Salem Heights in Dayton. Sister Massarek, 81, died Jan. 6 at Maria Joseph Center in Dayton. She was a Sister of the Precious Blood for 64 years.

Wednesday, January 6, 2010 Jesuit Father Stephen A. Meder, who served as a teacher and librarian at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati from 1944-55, died Dec. 21 in Pontiac, Mich. He was 98.

Tuesday, January 5, 2010 A Mass of Christian Burial for Father Mark Schmieder was celebrated on Jan. 2 at St. Francis Seraph Church in Over-the-Rhine. Father William Stockelman served as celebrant and homilist. Father Schmieder, 69, died Dec. 24 in Richland, Wash, where he was being treated for pancreatic cancer.

Loretto Jane Humbert, 89, died Wednesday, Dec. 16. She was a member of St. Vivian Parish in Cincinnati. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vivian Church. Imwalle Memorial Funeral Home in Cincinnati is handling the arrangements.

Mary Rita “Irish” Sims, 80, died Monday, Dec. 14. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Parish in Dayton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Holy Family Church. Harris Funeral Home in Dayton is handling the arrangements.
