 A Mass of Christian Burial for Deacon Allen K. Miller will be celebrated March 19 at St. Peter Church in Huber Heights. Deacon Miller, 90, died March 14 at Mercy Siena in Dayton.

 

A retired chief warrant officer from the U.S Air Force with 21 years of service, Deacon Miller also worked as a self-employed technical writer.

 

He was ordained to the permanent diaconate by Archbishop Daniel E. Pilarczyk in 1982 at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains. He served at St. Peter Parish from his ordination until he retired in 2006.

 

Deacon Miller was a member of the Cursillo group, a Bible study teacher for the parish’s Over 55 group and participated in other parish organizations.

 

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen, of Huber Heights; sons Michael of Sutter, Calif., and James of Anchorage, Alaska; and daughters Kelly Anne Ellis of Butler Township and Karen Dornsife of Kettering.

 

Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Yellow Springs.
