A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of Notre Dame de Namur Carolyn AmRhein was celebrated May 7 in the convent chapel in Cincinnati. Sister Carolyn, 88, died May 2 at the Mount Notre Dame Health Center in Cincinnati. She was a Sister of Notre Dame Namur for 70 years.

Sister Carolyn taught at schools in Ohio and Illinois. She served as a reading specialist at a number of schools in Cincinnati including Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Cutter Junior High, St. Francis Seraph, St. Rose, St. Joseph and Hyde Park Elementary School.

Sister Carolyn’s last educational ministry was with the Alliance for Educational Development, where she produced programs and student materials to support the educational process for those who serve Native American, Alaskan Native, and other under-represented populations. For the last 18 years, Sister Carolyn managed the Ohio Province tape library, as well as participating in the Adopt-a-Sister program at Mount Notre Dame High School.

Interment was in the convent cemetery.
