A Mass of Christian Burial for Precious Blood Sister Magdalen Hutmacher was celebrated Oct. 24 at Salem Heights in Dayton. Sister Magdalen, 92, died Oct. 19 at the Maria Joseph Center in Dayton. She was a Sister of the Precious Blood for 68 years. 

A native of Fayette, N.D., Sister Magdalen ministered in food service and domestic arts. She worked at Salem Heights and Lourdes Hall in Dayton, and at convents in California and Colorado. She also worked at seminaries in Canton, Ohio, and Denver, Colo. In 1983, Sister Magdalen began ministering in dietary service at St. Leonard Center in Centerville and later as a seamstress, mending and altering clothes for the center’s residents.

Interment was in the Salem Heights Cemetery.
