A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Sarita Cordova was celebrated on Sept. 17 in the Immaculate Conception Chapel at the congregation’s Delhi Township motherhouse. Sister Sarita, 96, died Sept. 11 at Mother Margaret Hall.


 
Sister Sarita was a Sister of Charity for 79 years, serving in secondary education. She taught Latin and Spanish to high school students for more than 40 years. She earned a bachelor of science degree in education from the Athenaeum of Ohio in 1936; a bachelor of arts in Spanish from the College of Mount St. Joseph in 1941; and master’s degree in Spanish from the University of New Mexico in 1948.

In the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, Sister Sarita taught Spanish at Catholic Central High School in Springfield from 1964-70. She retired to the motherhouse in 1990 to join the ministry of prayer.
 
Sister Sarita is survived by her sister, Adele Benson. Interment was in the Sisters of Charity Cemetery.
