On April 16, Margaret Singer, a social worker with Catholic Charities’ Su Casa Hispanic Center received the Everyday Freedom Hero Award from the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and the YWCA of Cincinnati.

Singer was recognized for her untiring efforts to help the local immigrant community. As the presenters of the award described, she “addresses the needs of recent immigrants; provides translation services, acts as a liaison with local schools and employers, assists with job searches and makes the transition to a new culture easier and more affable. Singer is a local Everyday Freedom Hero!”
