What is Catholic Schools Week?

Catholic Schools Week is an opportunity for schools across the nation to celebrate Catholic education. This year, that week is January 27 – February 2. Together, schools will celebrate the theme, “Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed” by participating in Mass and holding special academic, community, family, student and teacher events. Many of the archdiocesan Catholic schools will use the week as a means to host open houses, inviting the community in to see and learn more about their schools. This week is an opportunity to be proud of Catholic schools that are able to simultaneously teach the faith and be leaders in both academics and the community.

For this year’s Catholic Schools Week, please pray for the faculty, staff and students who attend Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

Prayer for Teachers:
Lord God, your spirit of wisdom fills the earth and teaches us your ways. Look upon these teachers. Let them strive to share their knowledge with gentle patience and endeavor always to bring the truth to eager minds. Grant that they may follow Jesus Christ, the way, the truth and the life, forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer for Students:
Lord our God, in your wisdom and love you surround us with the mysteries of the universe. Send your Spirit upon these students and fill them with your wisdom and blessings. Grant that they may devote themselves to their studies
and draw ever closer to you, the source of all knowledge. We ask this through
Christ our Lord. Amen.
