DESCRIPTION:Father Peter Stryker\, Initial Rector of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help in Champion\, Wisconsin\, will speak as part of the 2017 Our Lady of Light Speaker Series. \nOur Lady of Good Help is the only Marian shrine in the United States on the site of an approved apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In 1859\, the Blessed Mother appeared to Adele Brise\, a young Belgian immigrant\, and instructed her to teach children in the faith. Father Stryker\, a Cincinnati native\, served as Rector of the shrine from 2010\, when it was dedicated by Bishop David L. Ricken\, until 2016. He is presently pastor of St. Mary’s parish in Algoma\, Wisconsin and priest celebrant for Holy Rosary parish in Kewaunee\, Wisconsin. \nThe event at the Priest Residence (former Archbishop Residence) next to Our Lady of The Holy Spirit Center. Light refreshments are included. Suggested donation $30; end time approximate.
