SUMMARY:Pontifical Requiem Mass at Old St. Mary's
DESCRIPTION:As part of its Aug. 8-12 Sacred Music Retreat\, The Oratory of St. Philip Neri in Cincinnati and its parishes ( Sacred Heart in Camp Washington and Old St. Mary’s in Over the Rhine) will host a Pontifical Requiem Mass in the Extraordinary Form open to all. A Pontifical Mass is celebrated by a bishop and is the most formal of Latin Masses except for those celebrated by the pope; this one will be celebrated by a visiting bishop at the retreat and sung by the retreatants\, many of whom participate in Latin Mass choirs. The Mass will be preceded by sung Matins and Lauds of the Dead from 9:30 – 10; come for either or both. \nA second\, different Pontifical Latin Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Camp Washington on Sunday.
