Staff Report

With the See of the Diocese of Toledo currently vacant, Archbishop of Cincinnati Dennis M. Schnurr presided at the ordination of Father Matthew Frisbee May 31 at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral in Toledo.

The Diocese of Toledo, a suffragan see to the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, has been without an ordinary since The Most Reverend Leonard P. Blair was appointed Archbishop of Hartford, Conn. in December of 2013. The diocese is currently awaiting the appointing of a new bishop by Pope Francis.

Father Frisbee was the only ordinand for the 19-county diocese in Northwest Ohio this year.

Father Frisbee completed his studies for the priesthood at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary of the West at the Athenaeum in Cincinnati. Cincinnati’s seminary also produced two priests for the Diocese of Youngstown this year.
