New saint to be honored at Maria Stein Shrine

ST. MARYS DEANERY — There will be a public welcoming of members of the Little Sisters of the Poor on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at the Maria Stein Shrine of the Holy Relics. The shrine has recently received a relic of St. Jeanne Jugan, founder of the Little Sisters of the Poor, who was canonized on Oct. 11, 2009.

Mass will be celebrated by Missionary of the Precious Blood Father Louis Schmidt at 11 a.m. in the Shrine Chapel. Following the Mass, the Little Sisters will be guests for a guided tour of the Relic Shrine and public display of the relic of St. Jeanne Jugan.
