Poor Clares host annual run

ST. MARGARET MARY DEANERY — Runners, walkers and pet lovers are invited to join the Sisters of the Monastery of St. Clare for the sixth annual Run for the Nuns on Oct. 3 at Harbor Point, Winton Woods (east side of Winton Road at the park’s main entrance).

The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with the blessing of the animals, immediately followed by the dogs taking their companion for a walk around the lake at Winton Woods. The 5K run starts at 9:00 a.m., and the walk starts at 9:01 a.m.

This family friendly event includes activities for children, door prizes for registrants, light refreshments and placement awards. Dog scarves painted by the Sisters will be available for a small donation.
