A Mass of Christian Burial for Precious Blood Sister Kathryn Ann Gunther, 84, was held July 6 in Dayton. Sister Kathryn Ann died July 1 at the Maria Joseph Center in Dayton. She was a Sister of the Precious Blood for 69 years.

A native of Wapakoneta, Sister Kathryn Ann’s teaching career spanned nearly 25 years, with most of her ministry spent at then-Regina High School in Norwood.

She also served as a hospital chaplain at the former Providence Hospital in Cincinnati, the Maria Joseph Center and in Arizona. She retired to Salem Heights, the Sisters of the Precious Blood motherhouse, in 1992 and moved to the Maria Joseph Center in 2006.
 
A sister, Ellen, of Berkeley, Calif., survives her. Interment was in Salem Heights Cemetery.
