A Mass of Christian Burial for Precious Blood Sister Mildred Elaine Becker was celebrated at Salem Heights Chapel in Dayton on Jan. 2.  Sister Elaine died at her home in Dayton presumably on Dec. 23. She had been a Sister of the Precious Blood for 48 years.

A native of Cincinnati, Sister Elaine entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Precious Blood cloistered community at Our Lady of the Nativity Monastery in New Riegel, Ohio, in 1967. After entering the active community of the Sisters of the Precious Blood in 1978, she ministered in pastoral work in Cincinnati and Hamilton, Ohio, for 17 years. She then was the assistant director of the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis at the Archdiocese of Cincinnati for eight years. She later served as pastoral administrator at Holy Name Church and Gate of Heaven Cemetery, both in Cincinnati. She had been the coordinator for the Sisters at Emma Hall in Dayton since 2013.

Interment was in Salem Heights Cemetery.
