ST. ANDREW DEANERY — Alumni and parishioners of St. Gertrude Parish recently celebrated the school’s first annual alumni awards dinner and speakers series as the school celebrates its 75th anniversary.

The first alumni award was presented to Shari Siebert, a 1975 graduate of St. Gertrude School and current parish staff member, who directs the religious education program and numerous other programs that support the children of the parish.

This award, aptly named the Veritas Award, was given to Siebert because of her support and dedication to not only Catholic education but service to others, dedication to the greater Madeira community and a proud example of what a St. Gertrude alum exemplifies to children in the greater community.

Speakers included Dominican Sister Mary Angela, a past principal, speaking on “Faith and the Father’s Love” and Joe Uecker, a 1969 graduate of St. Gertrude School and current State House Representative from the 66th district in Ohio.
