Annual Conway Lecture on Catholicism at UC

The fourth annual Conway Lecture in Catholic Studies John McGreevy, Professor of History and Dean of the College of Arts and Letters at the University of Notre Dame, will deliver the lecture, which is entitled “American Jesuits and the World: The Ellsworth Outrage of 1854.” It discusses the curious case of a Swiss Jesuit who was tarred and feathered by a Protestant mob in New England. Fr. Mike Graham, S.J., president of Xavier University, will offer opening remarks. The venue is McMicken Hall 127, which faces Clifton Avenue on the UC Main campus. Free and open to the public.
