Marian Library Celebrate the harmony of Christmas with songs and Nativity sets. Music, Nativities and artwork illustrate the story of Jesus’ birth. Now in its 30th year, this exhibit features the Marian Library’s renowned collections accompanied by beloved Christmas music from around the world.

Beginning Friday, November 29

A Franciscan Christmas at St. Francis Seraph, 14 E Liberty St, Cincinnati
Beginning the day after Thanksgiving, the courtyard is open everyday Noon to 7PM to view all the live animals and Christmas scene of the Holy Family and the Magi. The church itself is open on Fridays, 4-7PM and Saturdays and Sundays, Noon-7PM, for people to view the 100+ Nativity scenes from around the world, the Dickens village and Santa Land. Everything is open through the first weekend of January. (may park in the school lot)

Christmas Nativities Enjoy a variety of nativities from different cultures featured at the Maria Stein Shrine. Donated by Tim and Kathleen Nealeigh, This exhibit is free and open to the public during normal Shrine hours, Sunday: 12:00 pm-4:00 pm, Monday – Thursday: 9:30 am – 6:00 pm, Friday and Saturday: 9:30 am – 4:00 pm (Closed December 24, December 25, December 31, & January 1)

Transfiguration Center Ludlow Falls Our Annual Open House is December 3, 2024! from 5:30 to 8 pm. There will be over 75,000 Christmas lights, desserts, nativities and relics, kid’s crafts, horse and carriage rides, live music and a visit from Santa. Please plan on joining us for this wonderful family tradition!

St Remy’s Journey to Bethlehem event to kick off Advent will be held on Monday, December 3 from 6:00-7:45 p.m. at St. Remy Hall. This popular event is for pre-schoolers and elementary school children, as well as their parents and grandparents. Come and make an Advent craft, watch a short skit, and go on a journey through town searching for a place to stay, just like Mary and Joseph did on their way to Bethlehem! Check-in will begin at 6:00, children will be divided into groups, and each of the stations will begin at 6:15.

Taizè Prayer Service, St Columban Loveland,  894 Oakland Rd., Loveland 45140 at 7:00 p.m.; Taizé Prayer is a service of scripture, song, light and quiet prayer that will last about an hour. The songs are simple, repeated refrains that allow us to enter more deeply into the prayer because we don’t have to focus on the text of multiple verses as we do when singing a hymn. The refrain Jesus, Remember Me is one of the pieces we know from the Taizé community.

Everyone is invited to attend this festive event.As part of Christmas on Campus, first and second-grade students from the local community will be paired with UD buddies. This event is open to the campus community, Dayton community, and families to come together and enjoy the holiday season.

Rorate Mass A special Mass in honor of the Blessed Mother will take place on Saturday, December 7th at St Susanna, Mason at 7:00am. This will take the place of the usual 8:00am Saturday Mass that week, and Confession will be available 8:30-9:30am. This Mass is done by candlelight in the pre-dawn hour, to symbolize Mary the pre-dawn of the Rising Sun, her Son Jesus Christ, who comes to us as the light of the world at Christmas. Please join us for this beautiful early morning celebration.

Missa Nocte at St. Susanna Mason at 8:00 p.m. Missa Nocte intends to facilitate a greater reverence and solemnity for the Mass, providing a beautiful, calm environment for meditation and contemplation. It will be celebrated by candlelight and ad orientem (which means everyone, including the priest, will face the same direction during some parts of the Mass). There will also be an emphasis on the treasury of the Church’s Sacred Music (Gregorian chant and polyphony). Before Missa Nocte begins, some of these aspects will be briefly explained to better acquaint those who have never experienced them.
