“Praying the Steps” at Holy Cross-Immaculata Church
Since 1860, Cincinnatians have "prayed the steps" on Good Friday. Tenebrae at Old St. Mary’s
The Ancient Office of Tenebrae will be sung by the Latin Choir at Old St. Mary's Church in Over-the-Rhine. This sung service features readings and hymns. Candles are gradually extinguished until the church is in darkness ("tenebrae" means "shadows"). The solemn service recalls the Passion of Christ.
