Holy Family, the Latin Mass parish in Dayton, will present at concert of sacred music from composers living at the time of the Battle of Lepanto (1571). The Holy Family Choir and Schola will sing compositions by Palestrina, Tallis, Byrd, Victoria, and others; listeners will travel through history with sacred music and commentary on the decisive battle and its miraculous victory for Christendom -- from which Mary received the title Our Lady of Victory. This annual blessing at Kil-Kare Speedway, Xenia, is dedicated to all military veterans and raises funds for AMVETS, AMBUCS/GREENEBUCS, and other charities. Some of the funds raised go to purchase trikes for special needschildren and military veterans to give them a sense of mobility and independence ($500-$2000 each, depending on needs). Deacon Greg Cecere and w several other deacons from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati will preside.
