“Wrapped in God’s Love” Service Day in Maria Stein
The Maria Stein Shrine of the Holy Relics invites all to a Lenten day of service projects that will include Little Dresses and Shorts, Beads of Coruage Bags, and Linus Blankets. Supplies provided. Bring sewing machines, scissors, and sewing supplies if you have them; donations of fleece or other wash and wear fabric (at least 44 x 20 inches) gladly accepted. Celtic band Foley Road will play and members and friends of the Bellarmine community will present songs and dramatic readings at this annual benefit for the work of Jesuit Father Joe Mulligan in Nicaragua. There is no charge, but donations are accepted in any amount -- proceeds go to Fr. Joe's program for handicapped adults. Precious Blood Sister Joyce Ann Zimmerman will speak on "Prayer: Basking in God's Presence." Talk one of two sponsored by the Maria Stein Shrine Adoration Guild, both presentations will concern what prayer is, when and how to pray, different types of prayer, and more. Both all combine reflection on prayer with practice of different types of prayer, focusing on prayer as an encounter with God that deepens our relationship with Him and with each other. Session two scheduled for April 6.
