Holy Family Dayton
140 S Findley St., Dayton 45403
The Feast of Corpus Christi is a very big Feast here at Holy Family! On THURSDAY MORNING AT 7:30AM we will begin preparing the decorations. An artist will sketch the images on the sidewalk with colored chalk. Then the images are filled with dyed wood chips. Please consider helping! ”Many hands make light work”! It’s a color-by-number project that children and adults alike can do! No experience after kindergarten necessary! We hope to wrap up by 2PM depending on the number of volunteers. Breakfast, Lunch, drinks will be provided. After the procession we will need brooms, leaf rakes, wagons and snow shovels to clean up. PLEASE sign up in the back of church so we know how much to provide. What a fantastic way to honor Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament on this wonderful Feast—and have fun at the same time! Thank you in advance for all your help! MASS THURSDAY AT 7PM!

St. Gertrude

St. Gertrude Parish’s big Corpus Christi procession is after the 10 a.m. Mass. According to our pastor, Father John Paul, it “will be, perhaps, one of the most important things our parish has done in this community for the 99 years we have been here.” St. Gertrude Parish has a long tradition of celebrating Corpus Christi with a Eucharistic procession around the church property after one of the Masses. But this year, the Corpus Christi procession will look radically different, as we will be doing a full Eucharistic procession from the church all the way down Miami Avenue to the city municipal building at the corner of Miami Avenue and Euclid Avenue. The Madeira Police Department will have a police car leading the procession and officers blocking off Miami Avenue and the various cross streets along our path. At the municipal building, we will have shuttle buses waiting to bus everyone back to St. Gertrude, where we will then have a big ice cream party to celebrate the feast.
