Dialogue Training in Lebanon

October 2, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Parish leaders committed to the promotion of human life, dignity and care for creation often find themselves in tense conversations with others who disagree with Church positions on certain issues. Abortion, immigration reform, use of the death penalty, economic justice, racism, climate change…none of these are easy topics. Yet we are compelled by Christ’s love and Catholic social teaching to engage others to witness to the truth as well as to search for it in dialogue with others. In an increasingly polarized culture, we all need tools for fostering more civil and more productive dialogue.

The Catholic Social Action Office and Commission will host a brief skills training by Sr. Andrea Koverman, SC, of the Intercommunity Justice and Peace Center, who will present a model for navigating difficult conversations aroundlife and justice concerns. The training is especially for Gather and Send leaders of the Archdiocese, but it is also open to other interested parishioners. The training is free. Light refreshments will be provided.

Seating is limited, so RSVP by Septempber 25 to Catholic Social Action at 513.421.3131, ext. 2660, or [email protected].
