Free

Catholic scientist and author Stephen Barr will present “Evolution and the Catholic Faith,” the annual Conway Lecture in Catholic Studies at the University of Cincinnati. A professor in the University of Delaware’s Physics and Astronomy department, he is the president of the new Society of Catholic Scientists and the author of “Modern Physics and Ancient Faith” and other books. In 2007, Pope Benedict XVI presented him the Benemerenti Medal for exemplary service to the Church. A frequent lecturer on science and religion, Professor Barr will explore the Catholic response to the theory of evolution within the broader context of Catholicism’s long history of scientific inquiry.

The annual Conway lecture is presented by UC’s Catholic Studies program and is open to the public.
