Talk on the Bible and the Reformation at St. Gertrude (Madeira)

October 10, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Part two of a four-part series, “The Reformation after 500 Years: A Catholic Take on the Divisive Doctrines.” Dominican Father Jordan Schmidt will speak about “Who Reads the Bible?” Begins in the Parish Center Lobby.

The series will not cover every issue of the Reformation, but will offer a survey of the meaning of Catholic teaching in light of Protestant questions. “What we believe the Church to be affects how we understand her teaching. The Reformation raises questions that Catholics can and should be able to answer,” said Lawain McNeil, a former Protestant minister who now directs Adult Evangelization at St. Gertrude. “Whether you have been a Catholic for six months or sixty years, Jesus Christ is calling you to know him more so that you can love him better and live more completely by his abundantly new life.”
