This is an informative lecture by Dr. Peter J. Casarella, titled “The Unwritten Future of the Catholic Church in the U.S.”

Today, nearly 40% of U.S. Catholics are Latino. Dr. Casarella will explain the spiritual, cultural, and political dimensions of Latino Catholicism, offering a lens for understanding the “unwritten future” of the Catholic Church in the United States.

Peter Casarella is an Associate Professor in the Department of Theology at the University of Notre Dame. He is Director of the University’s Latin American/North American Church Concerns (LANACC) at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies.

This lecture is part of the Hesburgh Lecture Series and is jointly sponsored by the Athenaeum, the University of Notre Dame Alumni Association, and the Notre Dame Club of Greater Cincinnati.

The talk will be held at the Bartlett Pastoral Center on the campus of The Athenaeum of Ohio/Mount St. Mary’s Seminary 6616 Beechmont Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45230. The building is handicap accessible.

All are welcome and admission is free.
