In Rare Occurrence, Roger Bacon’s Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the Class of 2021 are Sisters

May 28, 2021, Cincinnati, OH: Roger Bacon High School is pleased to announce that sisters Claire and Grace Hogshead will serve as Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the Class of 2021. It is the first time in the schools 93-year history that siblings will have earned these distinctions.

Claire is ranked #1 in her class of 126 seniors, while Grace is ranked #2. The sisters hail from St. Ignatius of Loyola elementary school in Monfort Heights, and are two of a set of triplets. While their brother chose to attend another high school, Claire and Grace opted for Roger Bacon’s small, family-like Franciscan environment. Both sisters are part of Roger Bacon’s prestigious Assisi Scholars program, and are members of the National Honor Society, where Grace served as president. Claire has won numerous academic awards while at Roger Bacon, and both Claire and Grace have been recognized both locally and nationally for their community service efforts. They also participated in extracurricular activities at Roger Bacon. Both were part of the “Bacon Buddies” program and tutoring for both peers at through the Friars club. Grace also played four years of soccer for Roger Bacon.

Claire has earned $366,000 in scholarships for college. She will study chemistry at the University of Dayton next year. Grace has earned $470,000 in scholarships for college, and will study marketing at Miami University next year.
