Mission Statement
The Catholic Telegraph is the official newspaper of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. As such, it shares directly in the mission of the archdiocese to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ by evangelizing, educating, informing and encouraging dialogue.
The Catholic Telegraph evangelizes by proclaiming stories of God’s great deeds taking place both in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and in the universal church. In this way it fosters a spirit of unity, pride and gratitude throughout the church.
The Catholic Telegraph educates by challenging its readers to a deeper understanding of Catholic teaching and to a greater commitment in living it out.
The Catholic Telegraph informs by providing objective and accurate news information about the church, both local and worldwide. In doing this, it attempts neither to avoid controversy nor to sensationalize it.
The Catholic Telegraph fosters dialogue by providing a forum for a healthy discussion of issues within the Catholic community. The Catholic Telegraph promotes the airing of diverse viewpoints within a framework which is supportive of church teaching.
The Catholic Telegraph website is intended to compliment the print edition, providing the benefits of up-to-date information that is unique to the Web. Its mission, like its parent publication, is to be the key source of information about the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.
