Moeller High School wins 2023 OHSAA BASEBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Moeller High School wins State Championship against Olentangy Orange, 4-1

The Crusaders fired up the offense in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Moeller.

Zion Theophilus earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for the Crusaders. The right hander lasted seven innings, allowing six hits and one run while striking out seven and walking one.

Tabur took the loss for Olentangy Orange. The pitcher surrendered four runs on nine hits over six innings, striking out three and walking one.

Moeller racked up eight hits in the game. Connor ChristensonToby Hueber, and CJ Richard each collected multiple hits for the Crusaders.

Richard, Hueber, and Christenson each collected two hits to lead Moeller. The Crusaders were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.

Clay Burdette had the most chances in the field with nine. Hueber led Moeller with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.

Astacio led Olentangy Orange with two hits in three at bats.
