Sister Barbara Fiand, a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur, born in Java, Indonesia, died peacefully on Dec. 30, 2025 at the age of 85, in the 45^th year of her religious life. Her passing is mourned by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, her nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Her parents and siblings preceded her in death.  Sister’s ministry as educator, author, and spiritual director took her locally, nationally, and internationally.  After her retirement Sister served the community in ministry of presence and prayer.

The visitation will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026 from 1:00-1:45 p.m. at Mt. Notre Dame Health Center, 699 E. Columbia Ave, Cincinnati, OH (513-821-7448), followed at 2:00 p.m. by the Mass of Christian Burial and interment.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jubilee Fund of the Sisters of Notre Dame, 701 E.
