SPRINGFIELD DEANERY — Movers from the St. Vincent de Paul Society and a volunteer crew of listeners recently moved Springfield’s Catholic radio station, 1600 AM, to its new home on the second floor of the Boyle Center, the former convent at St. Bernard Parish in Springfield.

According to Radio Maria Ohio coordinator and board president Mary Pyper, “This is a wonderful gift to our Blessed Mother from Father Paul Hurst and the people of St. Bernard Parish, making 1600 AM more accessible to its listeners, while also saving the station a substantial amount of rent each month. We are very grateful to Father Paul and his parishioners, as well as St. Vincent de Paul and all the volunteers who helped make this move a reality.”

Before the station can become fully operational in its new home, a separate outside stairway entrance must be built. Anyone interested in making a donation of labor and/or materials for this next phase of the project is asked to call Jill at the Radio Maria offices in Dayton at 937-425-8773.

Listeners who wish to make a donation to help with this project, operating expenses, or who have made pledges at one of the parish talks, are asked to send their donations to Radio Maria, PO Box 3339, Dayton, Ohio, 45401.  Radio Maria is a 501 © (3) non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.
