CATHEDRAL DEANERY — Two events will mark the 50th anniversary of Archbishop Daniel E. Pilarczyk’s ordination to the priesthood on Dec. 20, 2009. The first will be an anniversary Mass at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains in Cincinnati on Sunday, Dec. 20, at 3 p.m. While the Mass is an invitation-only event, a public reception will follow at the Convention Center from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
On Jan. 17, 2010, a concert featuring the music of Johann Sebastian Bach will be presented by members of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra with conductor Paavo Jarvi at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains. The concert, which begins at 3 p.m., honors the archbishop on the golden anniversary of his ordination and for his ministry of service to the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.
The free concert is sponsored by the archdiocese and St. Peter in Chains Cathedral’s Great Music in a Great Space concert series.
