David Perin, a longtime Catholic Central supporter and retired principal of Mechanicsburg Jr./Sr. High School, will take over the school’s academic administrative responsibilities on July 1, replacing Jeanne Kunay who retired at the end of the school year. Perin returned to teaching at Catholic Central Jr./Sr. High School three years ago following his retirement from the public school system.

Catholic Central Jr./Sr. High School’s new principal began his career as a teacher. After more than 19 years in the classroom, he advanced to administrative positions at Madison Plains and Mechanicsburg Exempted Village School District. After retiring, he returned to Catholic Central as a teacher.

“David’s experience at Catholic Central and his knowledge of the wider Springfield/Urbana area will assist him and the new president, Ken Britt, in moving Catholic Central into the future. This new energy and excitement should help in fostering the growth of the school and that of Catholic education in the greater Springfield/Urbana area,” said Marianist Brother Joe Kamis, archdiocesan superintendent of Catholic schools.
