St. Anthony Parish in Madisonville hosted members of their twinning parish from Sept. 27 through Oct. 7. The guests from Dominica visited the zoo, Gorman Heritage Farm and a number of social service agencies during their stay. They also celebrated Sunday Eucharist, which made for a vibrant and lively celebration!
Mount Notre Dame High School held its annual Roo-Ha Spirit Day on Sept. 13. The day began with an all-school Mass, celebrated by Father Robert Obermeyer. Following Mass, students participated in a series of fun games. They ended the day with their fall pep rally featuring the Moeller/MND Band.
Our Lady of Lourdes Parish celebrated Heritage Sunday in October, sharing pictures, memories and stories from 92 years as a church on the west side of Cincinnati.
Su Casa Hispanic Center, a program of Catholic Charities of Southwestern Ohio, led a Health Day at Iglesia San Carlos Borromeo. Services offered included mammograms, health screenings and more for the Hispanic/Latino community in Greater Cincinnati. Partners included: P&G, Healthy Moms & Babes, Proscan Imaging, The Healthcare Connection, and the Freestore Foodbank.
St. Maximillian Kolbe Parish celebrated their parish picnic with more than 500 people in attendance to enjoy farm fun, food and fellowship!
Johnny Appleseed (aka Father Ambrose) visited students at the St. Peter Early Childhood Center. He read a story to the students about apples, and then they each got to pick a lollipop from an “apple” tree.
Holy Family Parish in Middletown’s Vacation Bible School (VBS) basket raffle was a huge success! They raised more than $1,300 to help cover the cost of VBS, which donates to their twinning mission, the Daniel Comboni Clinic in Guatemala.
Guardian Angels Parish pairs parishioners with GA school and CCD second graders through their Prayer Partner Program. In September, prayer partners were reunited as these children, now eighth graders, prepare for Confirmation. Parishioners paired with GA school children attended a school Mass with students on Sept. 18 and shared a breakfast together before the students returned to class.

Congratulations to Lyndsey, a student at Chaminade Julienne High School, for her work with the the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! She and her friend received the Research Grant Award for their work for the Dayton Student of the Year campaign. The girls named their grant in honor of her teammate?s dad and Lyndsey?s family friend.
St. Michael Parish in Sharonville concluded its centennial celebrations with a Mass on Sept. 29. Archbishop Dennis Schnurr presided, assisted by Father Ed Burns, pastor; Father Tom DiFolco, former pastor; Father Norm Langenbrunner, weekend assistant; and Father Cy Whitaker, SJ, son of the parish.
Two Sisters of Charity instrumental in founding DePaul Cristo Rey High School (DPCR) have been recognized with the school’s Founders Leadership Award. Sister Barbara Hagedorn, SC, and Sister Catherine Kirby, SC, were honored during DPCR’s annual Founders Day Mass on Sept. 27.
St. Lawrence School students conducted a penny war for two weeks in September to raise funds for Matthew:25 ministries in support of Hurricane Dorian victims. The total amount raised for this effort was $1,681.85.
Students in McNicholas High School’s Architecture II and AP classes recently toured a construction site at 37 West 7th Street in Cincinnati. The historical building is being renovated into a boutique hotel by HGC Construction. The extended Explore Bell time program affords students opportunities to explore career options and experience real-world workplace scenarios as an extension of their classes.
Queen of Peace Parish in Hamilton spent a day serving food they prepared to feed the homeless and low-income families in the community. They helped empower, encourage and impact the hopeless. The day of hope brought them a hot meal, a meal to take home, free haircuts, personal hygiene items, health screenings, prayer and encouragement.
