Archdiocese hires new assistant Director for Office of Evangelization & Catechesis

Mary Montour has agreed to serve as an Assistant Director in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati’s Office of Evangelization & Catechesis (OEC) beginning April 15.  

Prior to joining the Archdiocesan staff Montour served as the Pastoral Associate for Catechesis at St. Maximilian Kolbe in Liberty Township.  Montour has a B.A. from SUNY at Buffalo, and a J.D. from Michigan State University School of Law.  She is working toward an M.A. in theology from the Athenaeum of Ohio.  

Montour was recently elected as the Regional Representative of the Great Lakes Region of the National Association of Parish Catechetical Directors (NPCD), a department of NCEA.  She has also served as the chairperson of the Cincinnati Religious Educators’ Association (CREA), Christ at the Center Domestic Church Advisory Committee, and the Catechetical Leadership Conference Planning Committee among other Archdiocesan initiatives.

Montour will be responsible for managing information for the OEC web site; coordinating the religious education assessment programs of the Archdiocese (NCEA/ACRE); promoting evangelization in the parishes of the Archdiocese; and, serving as a consultant to the parishes of the West side of Cincinnati.
