Being Pro Life: Pray for Dobbs

In the United States, abortion has taken the lives of over 60 million babies since 1973, and still well over 600,000 each year. An upcoming Supreme Court case, Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health, could change that, as the court considers the question of whether it is constitutional to ban abortion at any point pre-viability. This could be the case that we have been waiting over a generation for, that could overturn Roe v. Wade.  Parish leaders are asked to invite parishioners to pray and fast in any number of ways from December 1st (the beginning of oral arguments) and the following months until the case is decided next summer. With God, all things are possible. Let us continue to hope and pray for the unborn and their mothers, to end the tragedy of abortion in this country.  Please check out some resources for that here.

The Catholic Conference of Ohio is also urging all the faithful to contact their Ohio Senators to support a bill aimed at saving the lives of unborn children. Called the Human Life Protection Act (SB 123), this legislation would ban most abortions in Ohio in the event that Roe v. Wade is overturned, and states are given the power to set abortion policy. This legislation applies felony penalties to abortionists but provides immunity to mothers.  Check out this link for more information.  This month, Bob spoke with Mary Parker, Director of Legislative Affairs for Ohio Right to Life, about the bill currently in the Ohio Senate that would make abortion illegal, should Roe v. Wade be overturned through the Dobbs case in the coming year. Check out the podcast at Being Pro Life (buzzsprout.com)  or the video here, and learn more about it!
