On April 12, 2026, Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology will celebrate a Choral Mass at 7 p.m., preceded by an organ recital at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Gregory the Great. The Athenaeum Chorale and Mount St. Mary’s Latin Schola will together present the French nineteenth century composer Charles-Marie Widor’s triumphant Mass for Two Choirs and Two Organs, originally composed for the Church and Seminary choirs of the Church of St-Sulpice in Paris. The organ recital before Mass will be performed by John Deaver, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Organ at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and Director of Music at Trinity Episcopal Church in Covington, Kentucky, who will present excerpts from Widor’s monumental Symphonie Romane.
