ST. FRANCIS DE SALES DEANERY — Former Cincinnati Bengal Anthony Munoz and Mike Zimmer, the team’s current defensive coordinator, will be honored March 27 at the 38th annual Friars Club Community Dinner at Xavier University’s Cintas Center.

The dinner recognizes those who exemplify service to the community and excellence in coaching. Munoz, a Pro Football Hall of Famer, will receive the Friars Award for “serving and assisting the Friars Club in an exceptional manner.”

Zimmer will be named Coach of the Year. The Francis Award, for demonstrating the Franciscan spirit through community leadership on behalf of others, will be given to the friars of St. John the Baptist Province, the founders of Friars Club. The evening begins with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7.

The event is the year’s largest fundraiser for the Friars Club, a 149-year-old non-profit social service organization that serves the special needs of Cincinnati’s at-risk children by providing sports activities and nutrition and fitness guidance. Reservations are $100 per person or $1,500 for a table for 10. Information: 513-381-5432, or e-mail at [email protected].
