A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Carol Nealon was celebrated April 9 in the Immaculate Conception Chapel at the congregation’s Delhi Township motherhouse. Sister Carol, 72, died April 2 at Mother Margaret Hall.


 
A Dayton native, Sister Carol entered the congregation in 1961 and was a Sister of Charity for 48 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Dayton in 1959 and a master’s in education from Xavier University in 1976.
 
Sister Carol began teaching the primary grades in 1964 at St. Lawrence School in Cincinnati. From 1967 until 1975 she served at the former Holy Cross School, also in Cincinnati. For more than 30 years, Sister Carol ministered at St. Charles Borromeo School in Kettering. In 2003 the Miami Valley Catholic Education Council recognized Sister Carol for 40 years of commitment and service at its annual Teacher Recognition Banquet.
 
Sister Carol is survived by her brothers, Timothy, John and Daniel. Interment was in the Sisters of Charity Cemetery.
