Sister Gemma Glutz
A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Gemma Glutz was celebrated Feb. 27 in the congregation’s motherhouse chapel. Sister Gemma, 86, died Feb. 16 at Mother Margaret Hall. She was a Sister of Charity of Cincinnati for 66 years.
For 33 years, Sister Gemma taught in schools in Cincinnati, Springfield, Xenia, Kettering and Amelia. She especially loved her four years teaching at her home parish, the former Holy Cross. In 1981, she transitioned into parish ministries in the Lexington and Covington dioceses. She retired to the motherhouse in 1994 and volunteered at the reception desk and at Mother Margaret Hall.
Sister Gemma is survived by her two sisters, both also members of the congregation — Sisters Alice and Jean Ann Glutz. Interment was in the Sisters of Charity cemetery.
