A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of Notre Dame de Namur Imelda Laub was celebrated Feb. 10 in St. Julie Chapel at Mount Notre Dame convent. Sister Imelda, 97, died Feb. 5 at Mount Notre Dame Health Center in Reading. She was a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur for 74 years.

Sister Imelda was a Chicago native. Her educational ministry included assignments at St. James of the Valley School, Wyoming, Ohio; St. James School, Dayton; St. Xavier Commercial High School, Cincinnati: and Notre Dame High School in Hamilton.  She went on to serve as assistant treasurer for the Ohio Province of the Sisters of Notre Dame, and then served as provincial treasurer from 1973-1990. She also served on various finance board in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, and before her retirement in 2009, worked in her community’s archives.

Interment was in the community’s cemetery.
