A Mass of Christian Burial for Franciscan Sister Loretta Feeney was celebrated March 25 at the motherhouse chapel of the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, Ind. Sister Loretta, 91, died March 22 at St. Clare Hall, the healthcare facility for her congregation.


 
A native of Indianapolis, Sister Loretta entered the Oldenburg Franciscan community in 1935 and professed her final vows in 1941. Sister Loretta was a dedicated elementary school teacher and principal for 49 years. Her assignments included St. Anthony in Dayton; the former Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. James and St. Aloysius, all within the Cincinnati area; and Sacred Heart in Fairfield. Sister Loretta also taught in Indiana schools. From 1987 until her full retirement in 1997, Sister Loretta served as a clerical assistant in the Deanery Resource Center at the Oldenburg motherhouse.
 
Interment was in the congregation’s cemetery.
