A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of the Precious Blood M. Leonides Piekenbrock was celebrated at Salem Heights Oct. 22. Sister M. Leonides, 92, died Oct. 19 at the Maria Joseph Center in Dayton. She was a Sister of the Precious Blood for 71 years.
A native of St. Rose, Sister M. Leonides taught for nine years in elementary schools in Ohio, Indiana, Arizona and Missouri. She then spent nearly 40 years as an executive housekeeper in Colorado, Indiana and Michigan, as well as at the Maria Joseph Center and Salem Heights, the central house for the Sisters of the Precious Blood. She retired to Salem Heights in 1989 and moved to Maria Joseph in 2006. 
Her brother, Werner Piekenbrock of Dayton, survives her. Interment was in Salem Heights Cemetery.
