A Mass of Christian Burial for Franciscan Sister of the Poor Maria Klosterman was celebrated on March 14 in St. Clare Convent Chapel in Cincinnati. Sister Maria, 75, a native of Celina, died on March 9, 2015, in Cincinnati.

During her 57 years as a Franciscan Sister of the Poor, she served the poor as a nurse at Catholic hospitals in Cincinnati, Dayton, and Covington, among others. In addition, she collaborated with the founder of FAITH Services, a pioneer outreach to persons with AIDS, and served in leadership as congregational councilor.

Sister Maria is survived by her brothers, Earl, Vic, Luke, Gary, and Tom, and sisters, Judy Rentz and Connie Vail. Interment was in the convent cemetery.
