A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Mary Eunice McGreevy was celebrated Dec. 23 in the congregation’s motherhouse chapel in Delhi Township.

 

Sister Mary Eunice, 87, died Dec. 16 at Mother Margaret Hall, the Sisters’ nursing facility. She was a Sister of Charity of Cincinnati for 71 years.

 

A native of Chicago, Sister Mary Eunice earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the College of Mount St. Joseph and a master’s degree in religious education from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Mich. Sister Mary Eunice taught at schools and served as a pastoral assistant in many dioceses, including the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Locally she served at the former St. Elizabeth School in Norwood and St. Dominic School in Delhi.

 

Sister Mary Eunice relocated to South Holland, Ill., in 1982 to minister as a secondary teacher in religious studies. She traveled west in 1987 to serve in pastoral ministry before retiring as a volunteer at the St. Joseph Medical Center in Albuquerque. She retired to the motherhouse in 2000 to serve in the ministry of prayer.

 

Sister Mary Eunice is survived by her brother, Marty. Interment was in the Sisters of Charity cemetery.
