ARCHDIOCESE — The Society of St. Vincent de Paul will host a “Clean Out & Donate” weekend Jan. 23-24 to collect household items, furniture and clothing.

A SVDP truck will be on-site Saturday and Sunday at Our Lord Christ the King Parish, 3223 Linwood Rd., Cincinnati. The collection truck will be attended before and after Sunday Masses for donor-convenience, and donor tax receipts will be available.

“The winter months are hard on our local families especially during this economic downturn. While making home visits, we see people living in such dire circumstances — sometimes no dishes or silverware or furniture. Donating gently-used items will go a long way in helping our neighbors get through this difficult time,” noted Liz Carter, executive director, St. Vincent de Paul.

St. Vincent de Paul accepts donations of gently used clothing, household items, furniture and cars year-round.  Free pick-up service is available for large items. Call 513-421- 2273 to arrange a pick up, or you may drop off your donations at any of the six Cincinnati area thrift stores.

For more information on donating or for a list of St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Stores, go to http://www.svdpcincinnati.org/.
