ARCHDIOCESE — The Archdiocese of Cincinnati will celebrate two Masses in commemoration of the World Day of Peace on Jan. 1.

Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr will celebrate a World Day of Peace Mass at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains at 11 a.m., and Father David Brinkmoeller will celebrate a Mass at St. Helen Church (5100 Burkhardt Rd., Dayton) at 9 a.m.

A reception with light refreshments will follow each Mass.

At these Masses, the Office of Social Action of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati will recognize “beacons of peace,” based on role models such as St. Francis of Assisi, Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador, and Sister of Notre Dame de Namur Dorothy Stang of Dayton.
