The Mathematics Department of Elder High School is pleased to offer an Honors Algebra 1 course to gifted mathematics students who will be in the 8th grade during the 2015-2-16 school year. This course may enable students to take both Advanced Placement Calculus AB and Advanced Placement BC during their upper class years at Elder High School. Students can also earn college credit for one full year of college. To apply for program, send a completed application form and a copy of your students math grades form 6 and 7 and Standardized Test scores from grades 6 and 7. Deadline for application May 6th. Sunday, April 26, 2015, 2 p.m. Comedy returns to the Badin High School stage this weekend when the Theatre program presents a series of one-act plays in the Little Theatre. We've always done an Evening of One Act plays in the fall, but why have a dark stage in the spring? said Dr. Mark O'Hara, who teaches Badin's Theater class. Four short plays are on the docket - all student written. They include, "The Three Brothers," "A Story of Wi-Fi and Weight Watchers." "Oldilocks and the Unfinished Title" and "Fish on the Menu." Fifth Street; Dayton, OH 45402 Friday, May 1, 2015, 6:30 p.m. Come to tour First Vigil Praise event, an evening of Adoration and worship in the St. Gregory the Great Chapel at the Athenaeum of Ohio. vigil Praise is based on an eponymous event started in the Archdiocese of Denver in 1999. "This event, at the heart of it, is for all the young adults in the diocese," said Luke Carey, Assistant Director for the Office of New Evangelization. Doors to the chapel open at 6:30 p.m. and a rosary will be recited. The event begins in earnest at 7 p.m. with the rite of Eucharistic Exposition. Sunday, May 3, 2015, 2 p.m. Come to the 16th Annual Michael Benson concert and see The Phil DeGreg Trio and Don Braden; a world class musician and recording artist with 18 cd's. These two fabulous artists will perform solo, then join the award winning St. Xavier High School Jazz Band in a concert that 's sure to delight! The Michael Benson endowment brings world class artists to the Walter C Deye SJ Performance Center each spring, who perform in memory of former St. Xavier High School student Michael Benson who died tragically in a car crash after his graduation in 1999. Sunday, May 3, 2015, 5-8 p.m. St. Clare Church in College Hill is sponsoring an Italian evening at the church located at 1443 Cedar Avenue. Get home-style Italian food and enjoy live entertainment for $15 per adult, $7 per child 10 and under. All proceeds benefit isolated and lonely elderly in Cincinnati.
