Father Anthony J. Muller
A Mass of Christian Burial for Father Anthony J. Muller was celebrated by Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr May 8 at St. Ann Parish in Groesbeck.
Father Muller, a former member of the Elder High School faculty who completed his formation for the priesthood at St. Gregory Seminary and Mount St. Mary’s Seminary of the West, died May 3. He was 69.
Father Mueller was ordained on May 25, 1968, at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains by Auxiliary Bishop Edward A. McCarthy. During his priesthood, Father Muller served as pastor at St. Matthias Church, Forest Park; co-pastor at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Cincinnati, and as assistant pastor at the Church of the Assumption, Mount Healthy; St. James the Greater, White Oak; St. Lawrence, Price Hill; St Catharine of Siena, Cincinnati, the Cathedral of St Peter in Chains; St. Teresa of Avila, Price Hill; Our Lord Christ the King, Mt. Lookout; and St. Ann, Groesbeck. He also served as priest in residence St. Leo Church, Cincinnati, and taught at Badin High School, Hamilton, prior to being assigned to Elder High School in 1970.
Father Muller also served as chaplain at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, Anderson Township, and before that in Mariemont, and at Deaconess Hospital, Cincinnati. He retired in 2010 and resided at St. Ann Church, Groesbeck.
Interment was in St. Aloysius Gonzaga Cemetery.
