A Mass of Christ Burial for Franciscan Father Dan Havron was celebrated May 2 at St. Clement Church in St. Bernard. Father Havron, 61, died April 27 of an apparent heart attack.

A native of Richland, Wash., Father Havron entered the Franciscan order in 1970 and made solemn profession in 1975 at St. Leonard College in Centervile, where he was ordained a priest in 1977. In the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, Father Havron served as associate pastor of Corpus Christi Parish in Mt. Healthy from 1983-85. He also served at a parish in inner-city Detroit and later joined the staff of the Archdiocese of Detroit as coordinator of evangelization, a position he held until 2003. He went on to become involved in retreat and itinerant word ministry.

 

Father Havron is survived by his mother, Frances, sister, Evelyn, and two brothers, Richard and Edward. Interment was in St. Mary Cemetery in St. Bernard
