Sister Marilyn Therese Beauvais

A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Marilyn Therese Beauvais was celebrated June 24 in the Immaculate Conception Chapel at the congregation’s Delhi Township motherhouse. Sister Marilyn Therese, 79, died June 20 at Mother Margaret Hall, the congregation’s nursing facility. She was a Sister of Charity for 58 years.

 

A native of Pueblo, Colo., Sister Marilyn Therese graduated from Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Dayton in 1954, beginning her lifelong ministry in nursing. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing at the College of Mount St. Joseph. In the Archdiocese of Cincinnati she served at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati and as a nursing supervisor at Mother Margaret Hall. She also ministered in Pueblo for many years, including helping to establish health clinics for the elderly in the city’s public housing sites. For her lifetime of dedication to nursing, Sister Marilyn Therese was recognized by Colorado’s House of Representatives in 2002.

 

She is survived by her brothers, George and Edward. Interment was in the Sisters of Charity Cemetery.
